Our Hurricane IRMA Updates

As long as we have Internet I am updating, our status of what is going on in and around our lives.

The positive for us is we are on high ground so flooding is not our worry, and we live in a very strong 5TH WHEEL.  And we are surrounded by large oak trees that give us a wind break. We have 5.5 ft dirt mounds surrounding us. And so far it looks like we are not going to get the worst of the winds.  We have withstood 75 MPH winds with no problem. Another positive is IRMA keeps moving west, and our winds predicted keeps diminishing.
Still food shortage
There is no milk in the grocery store today period low on bread. And other miscellaneous items.
WE HAD SOME EXCITEMENT HERE
About 2 hrs ago we heard a big bang on the roof.  I checked and saw a limb on our roof, we have that happen often. But about 20min. ago we noticed a leak in our cabinet.  We looked and saw the limb had come through our roof, and water coming into our cabinet. We are catching the water now with, bowls, and can fix it after the storm.
WE FINISHED FIXING THE ROOF TODAY Got about 3 or 4 holes in or roof today.  Tomarrow it is supposed to rain.  We will see how it worked.
It worked hole is fixed!!

No AC! Millions in Florida swelter through power outages

SEPTEMBER 13, 2017 6:10 PM
By Wednesday afternoon, state emergency management officials estimate that one third — or 6.4 million — residents remained without power in the Sunshine state.Good Wednesday morning. My heart goes out to all those who still do not have power. And of course, to all those who have lost their homes or perhaps do not even know yet what is lost. Our wonderful neighbor, Nordia Jarrett, has already and will be helping us today to finish repairing the hole in  our roof and another one we found out about yesterday where the roof ladder was attached. When Dan went to get some stuff for the roof yesterday, he said there was still no gas anywhere he could see and many businesses still closed. Florida still has quite a way to recovery and functioning properly again.

In our little RV community it is heartwarming to see neighbors reaching out to each other. One man we have never met before gave us some sealer to help fix the hole in our roof. Another neighbor came over and climbed up on the roof (which is hard for Dan and impossible for me to do) and pulled the branch out of the hole. Then he asked if we had a broom and rake and proceeded to pull and sweep off the rest of the debris. Another neighbor raked a lot of the debris into piles that were along our street. What joy as we are able to help each other!   Lee Rodden

Had to rake a path to my clothesline to hang up clothes today. Then tried to organize the kitchen a bit while everything is out of the cabinet where the branch came through the roof. Picked up more debris (this will continue for some time), cleaned the fridge before getting everything back in it, and unpacked our clothes which were ready for evacuation. Then while sitting on the deck taking my coffee break, totally enjoyed the butterfly birthday party taking place in my yard. I have read other posts saying they have seen butterflies, too. Just a little special joy sent our way via the Lord.  Lee Rodden

IRMA SHOWS US THE CLIMATE CHANGE CROWD IS FULL OF HOT AIR

IT HAS BEEN 24 HRS SINCE WE POSTED.
Your prayers have been answer.
We are still cleaning up.
WE ARE FINE WILL TELL THE STORY LATTER.

KEEP PRAYING.GIVE THANKS NO ONE HURT!!!

We are beginning to get wind at our house. We will have the worst tonight at 2AM TO 5 AM.
But our wind is suppose to get to 57MPH at 3 AM.
We are fine and be posting pictures as I have Internet.
Our power is coming and going.
We have lots of batteries.

WE ARE DOING THE SUNDAY CLASS DURING HURRACAIN IRMA

DO NOT LET MEDIA AND TECHNOLOGY RULE YOUR LIFE

Timothy 1:7Amplified Bible (AMP)
7 For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].

It is easy to watch TV, search on the internet, or scroll through social media and pick up a lot of fear not only about the current hurricane, Irma, but also many other things.
But if we trust in the Lord and His word, the Bible, we know without a doubt that He not only surrounds us with His mighty Warrior Angels to protect us, but He walks the path ahead of us preparing the way.

The eye is in the Keys and the eye is getting less organized.

It looks like it has finally turned and is coming our way.It just started raining here. 6:23AM SUNDAY. Almost no wind right now.

This is what has happened so far

This is the largest storm track
This what is supposed to happen at our house for the next 6 hrs.

I am beginning to question the mythical turn.

My friend Dave evacuated Palm Beach and came to Sarasota.  Now he has to go back to Palm Beach. His life was based on false information from NOAA.

I went back and looked at the history of hurricanes and I am beginning to see why the prediction that IRMA was going to Palm Beach was wrong.

It is based on a mythical turn that is built into the computer models some are using to predict the future.
If you take the average of history most storms turn. But some do not. If you are using a computer model and averaging this will mess up your predictions.
This is just one example of hurricanes not turning.

Thus is what IRMA has done so far.
10am Sat.

This the Galveston Hurricane of 1900

Most turn but some don't.
Averaging does not predict the future.

It's Coming Over Us: KEEP PRAYING!!

Power outage will probably be out biggest problem.
We are prepared for 5 to 7 days with no power.

Public Closing In Our Area

When Publix stores close due to the weather, we know it is serious! We went out today to just see if there were a few more things we needed. Stores had signs saying they had no bread or water. Okay, here's some help for that. Freeze water (we use our filtered Brita water) in Zip-Lok bags and you will have drinking water and ice. No bread? Flour tortillas seem to be plentiful and make not only great sandwiches but desert wrap-ups, too.
The negatives are we are 70 yrs old, the wind could be bad and trees could fall on us.
It looks like the eye is moving toward us.

If we do evacuate we plan on going here.

Please Pray
For Our Safety

MORNING THOUGHTS. The first light of day shows Irmas has undergone some changes overnight. First off, sustained winds are down to 150 mph. Secondly, Irma is completing an eye wall replacement cycle and the eye continues to widen. The diameter of the eye now is about 45 miles, which is good. Generally speaking, when the eye expands, the storm weakens, while the wind field increases. Think of a figure skater who is spinning. When she pulls her arms in, closer to her body, she spins much faster. When the skater extends her arms away from her body, the spin slows. Same thing with a hurricane, when the eye expands, the storm spins slower. So, weakening is good! The track of Irma is going to be very close, if not on the coast of Cuba. The storms interaction with land will more than likely weaken the storm further. I will be looking for intensity changes very closely. The track forecast has not changed much, nearly all the models are forecasting a storm running up the middle of Florida and the official forecast from the Hurricane Center follows along. We have all seen the incredible photos of the damage in the Caribbean from Irma. Remember, that is CAT 5 damage. The storm is NOT going to be a CAT 5 when it is over central Florida. NOT a CAT 4, probably NOT a CAT 3, more than likely a CAT 2.. While that is certainly no picnic, and there will be damage, the trend towards a "weaker" hurricane is good. We will all get through this. Just do what you are doing. Finish up your preparations and do not stress. It has been a long week!  I will keep you posted. www.myfoxhurricane.com
